Our happiness and woes
Our time in the past few weeks are quite hectic. And I am glad its done. We have been visiting my Father in law in the hospital to help him calm down from his hallucinations of not being allowed to eat and drink after he failed his swallowing test. The doctor said the food and medicine goes to the lungs instead of the esophagus so he was not allowed to eat for five days before he finally installed the feeding tube to his left side Friday of two weeks ago.
Upon entering the hospital premises, we saw this yellow butterfly with the hospital’s generous donors in it. Nice way of presenting thanks.
When we arrived in my father in law’s room, he was awake and feeling a little better that they gave him medicine through his feeding tube.
I somehow got amazed of how the hospital technology is hi-tech here in America. They have a machine for calculating drops from the IV and the feeding tube. These are very different from what I have worked when I was a student nurse in a few hospitals in Bohol, Philippines.
We went to visit my mother in law’s house after the hospital. George and Daddy enjoyed caressing Sno-ball, the cat.
George enjoyed broom brooming his blue car.
This is what my Easter basket looked like this year. Our church bless them and we enjoyed eating the food. Do you have this kind of custom too?
I hanged the roses that my husband gave me as a flower bouquet celebrating my third year of living here in America. That was after Easter. And I like to dry the flowers so I can preserve them. Do you like drying flowers too?

Your poor father.
No, I’ve never heard of blessing an Easter basket.
Thanks for sharing your blues.
Happy Blue Monday, Mel.
Hope he gets well soon! Here’s mine. See you around!
I am sorry to hear about your FIL. Technology in the US is really more advanced. Philippines is so far behind. Argggh!
BTW Mel , have all the sponsors sent their pledges to you? Please let me know so we can do a follow- up.
Hi there mommy! Visiting you again here. How is your FIL doing as of now? I wish him quick recovery. Get well soon, FIL!
It’s the same case with my BIL sis, he can not eat food yet, it would take months before he would be able to. The doctor removed his stomach and he is being fed through his veins while in the hospital.. Pag nakauwi na sya puro soup lang makakain nya. no solid food is allowed..
I will pray for your FIL’s fast recovery..
My grandma, has been in that stage. It’s painful seeing her in pain.
Hope your father in-law will get well…
Hopping through RT
I am still praying for the divine healing of your FIL. It must be really hard on his part not to eat food regularly but through a feeding tube. By the stripes of Jesus he is healed. Amen. Of course we can never compare hospital facilities in the US and in the Phils. It’s like comparing apples with aratiles (Phil cherries). Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.
I hope your father in law is ok now. BTW my entry for Blue Monday is at Points of View and Thoughts and my Ruby Tuesday is here Anne’s Sweet Life Thanks
Get well soon for your father in-law sis, the flowers looks good., love the color combination.
