#175/366 Blog Photo Challenge – Broccoli & Peas Harvest
I had my first harvest of broccoli and second harvest of peas in my garden today. It’s not a lot but hey, it’s still something. One thing about harvesting broccoli is that you have to harvest it before their flowers bloom or else (you can still eat it but) they are stringy. The cabbage family type of plants usually loves cool type of weather. Our weather these days has been in the 95 degrees. Hot temperature tends to make plants bolt. As for the peas, they are a few in this picture because I washed some and we ate it raw. They are crispy and fresh to eat that way.
My family joined my in-laws in picnicking outside their house today. Turns out their neighbor had one too and we got to meet them. They shared a S’more for George.

How nice– harvesting fresh veges from your very own garden! I have yet to do that in mine! Too bad though I only have lemon grass around here. Lol. My malunggay seeds have sprouted already though so hopefully, later this year, maka-harvest ra pud ko.
