Sodastream Home Soda Maker Review
Drinking soda is now healthier and more convenient to use, right at home, with this Home Soda Maker from Sodastream USA. We got to use a Fountain Jet soda maker and drink homemade soda at home during my birthday party a week ago. Assembling it was super easy than it looks. And before anything else, I would like to thank Sodastream for choosing me to review one of their kits.
The Sodastream Starter Kit.
The starter kit includes the Fountain jet soda maker, 1 empty Sodastream bottle – 1 liter, a box of 6 Sodamix taste sampler, and a Reusable Carbonator bottle. One can buy this kit on selected retailers in the US.
This is how you will install the carbonator. You have to slide up the back of the soda maker, install the carbonator bottle and put the back on to the soda maker to secure the carbonator in place. Make sure the carbonator is not loose so that it will not go flat when mixed to the water.
You can use your home distilled water and make sure it’s chilled for a few minutes in your refrigerator so you can enjoy drinking a fresh and cool soda after. Make sure that you screw the bottle with water tight into the soda maker. You have to press the button on top until it fizzes or buzzes. For one liter of water, press the button 3 or 4 times. More than that will spill the water as the bottle is now pressurized. Once the water is turned into a carbonated water, you can choose one flavor from the starter kit like the ones in the photo below. One flavor can make 1 liter of home made soda.
What’s nice about this Sodamix flavors is that it has less sugar and once mixed to the carbonated water, your soda will contain 35 calories. This is one good benefit to those who are watching out on their carb intake and sugar diet.
I tried the non-diet root beer flavor. It was good! Though my husband, a root beer lover, said that it taste not bad but he still prefers his favorite root beer brand.
We tried the non-diet orange flavor. This was a hit as my kids loved it. It taste just like orange soda.
I also received quite a few of the other Regular, Diet, Energy, Sparkling Naturals & MyWater Essence flavors. What’s nice about it is that you can experiment each flavors with a touch of MyWater essence. Like for instance, I mixed raspberry MyWater essence to the Ginger Ale flavor. I liked how the drink turned into a Raspberry Ginger Ale soda. My mom in law liked the pink diet grapefruit too.
