The Gro Project Is Fun & Easy

The weather has been nice in our area lately. There were days that it is overcast and rainy. I like it because it breaks up the hot and humid air and that the natural water that comes from the rain is always good for the plants. My mother in law invited me and my kids to plant corn seeds in her garden a few weeks ago. We went over her house and we saw that my brother in law was busy tilling the ground. He made sure that it will be ready for us to plant the seeds. I think the area he prepared was 18 x 8 feet rectangular size in-ground garden. Rows of Corn needs to be at least 1 foot away from each other. And sometime last week, I went to see how the corn are doing and I’m excited to see seedlings that are 3 inches tall. It makes you feel assured that they are going to grow nice and tall very soon (hopefully about knee length by the 4th of July).

The photo above is the in-ground garden area where my kids and I enjoyed planting corn. The kids sure enjoyed laying themselves in the grass after planting. I also suggested a LiquaFeed All Purpose Plant Food Advance Starter Kit to help in making corn grow stronger.

I have been on and off writing in this blog. The month of April to this week has been busy for me. My kids and I have been actively joining the YMCA in our area. It’s just a few minutes away from us. The boys took their turns every day in the past few weeks to take swimming and tumbling classes. A parent has to attend in their 30 to 45 minutes classes and that’s got to be me. We got to explore their playground and do basketball in their gym after classes. The boys loved it and I enjoy seeing them active and happy. My eldest and I just joined a 3 day Summer Camp at Y last week too. The Y brought significant change in our lives because it made us more active outside home. I also prepared food and cake for my eldest to celebrate his 4th birthday this Sunday and I have to prepare another cake to celebrate my youngest’s 2nd birthday tomorrow. Life as a Mom has lots of juggling here and there for me but I love it!

Other than those things that made me inspired being a Mom lately, I am so happy to receive a beautiful Maxi dress from PinkBlush Maternity. Getting the whole family organized for eye doctor appointments then wait for weeks to have everyone fit their glasses back at the doctor’s office, can sometimes cause delay and family time changes. Trip To Amish Greenhouse

Yesterday, my brother in law took me and my kids to an Amish Greenhouse in Sugar Grove, PA. We almost got lost as there are only a few signs on the road where this greenhouse can be located. It was out first time to see an Amish green house. It was a huge one and they grow lots of flowers and edible plants in there. What’s nice about Amish plants is that they grow it organic. We got to meet the owner and my kids got to meet some Amish kids. I am amazed of how they kept up the place as they have quite a few acres of land which they turned into huge farms of potatoes, grapes, blueberries and more. I think a clan of Amish family is living there as I see many of them in farm uniforms when they saw us as their first costumer. They gave us some free homemade cookies and the kids really wanted to play with my kids but the older sister said the kids can’t speak English yet not until they go to school. They are very cute!

I bought 2 varieties of lettuce seedlings for $1.50 each tray of 6. I also bought another tray of grape tomato seedlings and roma tomato seedlings for $1.50 each. Will be busy in getting my hands dirty in the garden today!

How to Make Your Guests Feel at Home

So how exactly can you ensure that they feel at home when they arrive?

Get in extra food and drink

Make sure you get in extras of all the basics such as bread, tea, milk as well as other things that your guests may want to eat or drink during their stay. If you really want to be the perfect host then find out if they have any particular needs beforehand – this includes whether there is anything they can’t have because of something like an allergy, while you could also find out whether they have any particular favourite foods or drinks and get these in too.

Empty drawers and cupboards for their clothes

Put some magazines next to the bed

As the bedroom can be somewhere your guests like to escape to, they may want to watch a bit of TV or do a bit of reading while they are there. Providing some magazines, including one with a current television schedule will allow them to see what is on, as well as giving them something to read while they catch up on their personal time.
